    Elephant Seal

An elephant seal male pushes himself up on the rock, showcasing his full size. Male elephant seals can be up to 5 meters long and weight almost 5000 pounds. The enlarged nose, or proboscis, indicates that this is an adult male.

Ollie, the one resident sea otter in the Victoria B.C. region, relaxes in a bed of bull kelp in Race Rocks Ecological Reserve. Sea otters have the thickest fur in the animal kingdom which keeps them both warm and afloat.
